Wood-Fired - Batter Bowls

ABOUT WOOD-FIRING

Firing the wood kiln is a long, hot, labor intensive and FUN process. It takes about 16 hours of steady stoking, and stirring up the ashes in the firebox to create a rich surface on the ”shoulders” of the pots. Potters love wood kilns, not only for the distinctive look of the pots, but also for the camaraderie of the firing and because it brings us so close to the kiln as a living creature.    Click here to see more wood-fired work
